Elizabeth (Liz) Hides

Hello! My name is Elizabeth (Liz) Hides and I am a Registered Social Worker/Counsellor/Therapist. I live in Calgary, Alberta, have been married to a great guy for 30 years, and have two wonderful adult children. What led me to this type of career was my many personal experiences with grief, loss, and life changes. These have included: moving to another country, deaths of loved ones, loss of dear pets, coping with ADD and a learning disability, and the diagnosis of a chronic illness, just to name a few.  These experiences help guide me in the work that do with my clients.

I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups who are struggling with grief, loss, or a challenging life transition.  I work with men, women, children, adolescents, seniors, and LGBTQ.  My expertise is in grief and loss, particularly with people who have experienced a death by suicide, homicide, sudden death or other traumatic or complicated loss.  Also, for those who feel stuck, anxious, depressed, or unable to start or maintain relationships.
